Dear all,
The cost of living crisis has been discussed amongst councillors and it has been agreed that Alfold Parish Council will support a ‘Warm Hub’ throughout the month of January.
The Hub will be at Alfold Village Hall every Monday commencing 9th January 2023 from 11am-3pm with no time limit on people staying.
The Hub will provide the following free of charge:
- free drinks, tea, coffee, hot chocolate milk and biscuits. (You are welcome to bring your own sandwiches, snacks, etc.).
- Wi fi is available for those who wish to work.
- Cards, puzzles and books available for the smaller (and taller) Alfoldians who would like to play and read.
We are hoping that we will have someone coming from Waverley and/or Surrey County Council to discuss issues people are experiencing too, and offer assistance to those who need it.
All are very welcome and if the uptake is enough, Alfold Parish Council will run the Hub throughout February and March too.
Do come and join us. If anyone is interested in volunteering please contact Mary Brown on 01403 753079 or brownbracken@btinternet.com.
Equally, the Hub is being funded in part through a number of sources, including Alfold Parish Council. If anyone wishes to make a donation to help with costs, please let the Clerk know at clerk@alfoldparishcouncil.gov.uk.
Thanks,
Julie
